FreeBSD下编译安装mysql遇到问题了？？

在vmware中安装了freebsd并且顺利的重新编译了内核，顺利地完成了apache1.3.29的编译安装，但mysql却说什吗也装不上了。我下载的是mysql-max-4.0.18-unknown-freebsd4.7-i386.tar.gz解压缩后进入
mysql-max-4.0.18-unknown-freebsd4.7-i386目录中
./configure --prefix=/usr/local/mysql --sysconfdir=/etc --localstatedir=/var/lib/mysql
出现了这样的提示：

To start mysqld at boot time you have to copy support-files/mysql.server
to the right place for your system

PLEASE REMEMBER TO SET A PASSWORD FOR THE MySQL root USER !
To do so, start the server, then issue the following commands:
./bin/mysqladmin -u root password 'new-password'
./bin/mysqladmin -u root -h www.jiaoyukaoshi.com password 'new-password'
See the manual for more instructions.

NOTE:  If you are upgrading from a MySQL <= 3.22.10 you should run
the ./bin/mysql_fix_privilege_tables. Otherwise you will not be
able to use the new GRANT command!

You can start the MySQL daemon with:
cd . ; ./bin/mysqld_safe &

You can test the MySQL daemon with the benchmarks in the 'sql-bench' directory:
cd sql-bench ; perl run-all-tests

Please report any problems with the ./bin/mysqlbug script!

Starting the mysqld server.  You can test that it is up and running
with the command:
./bin/mysqladmin version
www# chown: mysql: illegal user name

然后键入make
但系统提示：
make: no target to make.

请大家帮帮我，谢谢了！

是二进制版本，不用安装，解压缩就能用了
不过感觉还是自己编译的好。

就是，直接解开就可以用了，如果想自己编译，请使用源码做一次!

这个二进制包是不是必须在freebsd4.7下能够运行呀

mysql對于各種不同環境,都有自己的二進制包的~

还是不行呀老大们
这次编译、安装都正常
make install之后我执行
# ./scripts/mysql_install_db   //正常

# chown -R root /usr/local/mysql     
# chown -R root  /usr/local/mysql/var   //失败，没有var 目录，我手工创建了一个。然后重新执行，成功

# /usr/local/mysql/bin/mysqld_safe
系统提示错误信息：
mysqld ended!
我察看错误日志，说create ibdata1文件的权限不够
