Job Title: UNIX System Administrator
Job Duties:
- Monitoring systems
- Performing backups
- Applying OS updates, and configuration changes
- Installs and configures new hardware/software
- Adds/deletes/modifies user accounts
- Providing technical support to engineers
- Responsible for security, documentation and configuration of systems
- Troubleshooting any reported problems
- Keeping the systems up and running
- Providing system performance tuning
- Automating processes
Job Requirements:
Education: Required - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field
Experience: Required - Minimum 5 years of extensive hands on technical experience in UNIX systems administration. Preferred - Experience with EDA tools and environments
Skills and Knowledge:
Required:
- A Strong technical background in UNIX and Linux
- Experience configuring and supporting Netapp Storage and Netbackup
- Experience in setting up and supporting LSF
- Experience in supporting Sunray environment
- EDA applications support
- Ability to write scripts (PERL, PHP, shell)
- UNIX/Linux system security administration, performance monitoring, tuning, troubleshooting, capacity planning, patching etc.
Preferred:
- Experience with Solaris 10
- Experience with Red Hat Linux
- Experience with Synchronicity and CVS
Abilities:
Required:
Learn new things quickly with minimal direction
Possess a high degree of analytical and technical skills
Strong interpersonal skills needed to team well with peers and customers
Good organizational and time management skills to work on multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
Good written and verbal communication skills
A passion for improving processes and a commitment to customer satisfaction are both essential
